Real Life Weddings Magazine Profile

Tete a Tete is an Edinburgh based Scottish-French photographic partnership formed by Audrey Pinard and Ewan Barry.

Audrey Pinard: I've always had a strong interest in all visual media and my studies took me from France to Ireland and then finally to Edinburgh where I decided to specialise in still photography.

Ewan Barry: It was while studying photography in Edinburgh that I met and began working with Audrey and we discovered a mutual interest in photographing people and this eventually led to the forming of Tete a Tete.

Ours is an editorial approach to wedding photography, which doesn't realIy describe the style of the image but does describe the blend of portrait and documentary photography we offer. We find this works well as it combines posed shots of the Bride and Groom and families with unposed or reportage type shots which capture the day and all it's detail as it unfolds.

It's difficult to explain exactly why we enjoy "people" photography - perhaps it's just the infinite possibilities that arise from different personalities, facial expressions, lighting and locations which keep us inspired and Weddings have all of these in abundance.

Meeting the Bride and Groom on at least a couple of occaisions before the wedding to discuss their plans and requirements means we can tailor the timing and content of the photography to suit each couple. This is the starting point for planning and creating a set of images unique to them that will become the finished wedding book.

We have also received many photographic industry awards, most recently, recognition in the Hasselblad Masters, as one of international top ten wedding photographers in 2008 and 2009 and the BIPP Scottish Wedding Photographer of the Year 2008.
